Holistic Treatment

Our HolisticTreatment Model:
Marianne Brandon, Ph.D., and Steven J. Saltzman, M.D. are a husband and wife team who created Wellminds Wellbodies LLC. in an effort to meet the treatment needs of Dr. Brandon’s clients within a holistic framework, one which they believe in and personally subscribe to. Their holistic treatment model is founded on a vast modern medical knowledge base, and involves balancing the mind, body, and spirit as naturally as possible. Deficiencies or dysfunctions that may be underlying disease symptoms are thus corrected. Such a model tends to involve a significant commitment on the part of the patient. For example, lifestyle changes, such as major dietary adjustments and detoxification, are often the first step in healing. Patients at Wellminds Wellbodies LLC have the option of being evaluated by Dr. Brandon and/or Dr. Saltzman.

Why Choose Holistic Medicine?
Many sources confirm that toxins and dietary deficiencies contribute to 95% of all disease states including cancers, heart disease, diabetes, and autoimmune disorders. Modern medicine often treats symptoms but fails to understand or completely address the causes of disease. For example, rather than asking why a patient is depressed, overweight, or hypertensive, these patients are typically offered drugs as a treatment solution which often fails to cure. In addition, many leading health experts today express significant major concerns with controlled prescription use over time. It is not unusual for prescription medications to be suddenly pulled from the market because of significant health risks, even though they were considered safe and utilized by thousands if not millions of patients for years. We find it unfortunate that it is so uncommon for an individual to be taken off prescription medication because they were healed. What is more typically seen is patients with laundry lists of prescription medications who retain their disease states.

Cutting Edge Nutrition:
Most food is devitalized and demineralized, while at the same time full of chemicals, pesticides, hormones, and antibiotics. Cutting edge nutrition begins with an understanding of what benefits the body, and what does not. Food choices are made based on the body's needs rather than convenience. This results in priority given to whole, unprocessed foods that are nutrient dense in their pure, unadulterated state. Dr. Saltzman tailors specific diet plans to address the health goals of each patient.
